My name is Michael Silverthorne, and I offer online therapy through Silverthorne Therapy (Psychotherapy & Counselling) to individuals and couples across British Columbia, including clients in Kelowna and throughout the Okanagan. I support people who are struggling with anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly, feel understood, and begin making meaningful changes in your life. Through collaborative and thoughtful conversations, I help clients gain insight into the emotional and relational patterns that affect their wellbeing. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed, and together we work to better understand what is happening beneath the surface while developing practical coping strategies, healthier relationship patterns, and greater emotional balance.
My work as a psychotherapist and counsellor in BC is grounded in a family-of-origin perspective, recognizing how early life experiences can shape the ways we think, feel, and relate to others. I integrate several evidence-based approaches, including Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support individuals and couples in strengthening relationships, regulating emotions, and building practical tools for lasting change. I offer secure online counselling sessions throughout British Columbia, making therapy accessible whether you live in Kelowna, the Okanagan, or anywhere in BC, so you can access professional support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Individual therapy provides a supportive, confidential space to explore anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or other personal concerns.
I work collaboratively with teens (16+) and adults to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and foster meaningful change. Rooted in respect, curiosity, and a deep belief in each person’s capacity for growth, sessions are tailored to your unique experiences and goals.
Relationship Therapy
Relationship therapy offers a structured, supportive environment where partners can improve communication, rebuild trust, and navigate conflict with greater understanding. Michael often works with emotional and sexual intimacy, desire discrepancies, non-monogamy, and diverse relationship structures. Michael helps partners strengthen connection, clarify needs, and foster lasting, meaningful change together.
